Yamaha has announced that Broken City Percussion (BCP) has opted to use Yamaha marching and concert instruments exclusively.

The D’Addario Foundation has announced it will partner with Hungry for Music, Todd Rundgren’s Spirit of Harmony, Instruments in the Cloud, and Lyft to host an instrument collection event at D’Addario & Company headquarters in Farmingdale, Long Island on Thursday, November 2 from 1-4 p.m.

On Thursday, November 9, 16 Music & Arts warehouses across the U.S. will be open to the public for the first time for a warehouse sale. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., customers will be able to score open-box brand-name instruments, accessories, and sheet music at low prices.

The D’Addario Foundation held three grant presentation events in October at Ted Brown Music in Tacoma, Washington, Beacock Music in Vancouver, Washington, and Menchey Music in Timonium, Maryland.

Manhasset Stands of Yakima, Washington recently exhibited their music stand products and accessories at the Shanghai Music Fair in China from October 11 to 14.

Carnegie Hall has announced the sold-out performance by the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (Rome), led by Music Director Antonio Pappano in his Carnegie Hall debut and featuring pianist Martha Argerich, scheduled for Friday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. EST will be webcast live free of charge to a worldwide audience on medici.tvand carnegiehall.org/medici.

Carnegie Hall has announced that music director and conductor Lü Jia and the China NCPA Orchestra will present the U.S. premiere of Qigang Chen’s Luan Tan in place of his previously announced work, Itinéraire d'une illusion, during the orchestra’s concert on Monday, October 30 at 8:00 p.m.

Nicholas McGegan will return to conduct Juilliard415 in "Le monde galant,” featuring musical depictions of foreign lands by European composers Campra, Gluck, Gow, Lalande, Leclair, Rameau, Scarlatti, and Telemann on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Alice Tully Hall.

The University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music will award Honorary Doctor of Music degrees to drummer Steve Gadd (BM ’68) and to jazz keyboardist and composer Chick Corea on October 13 at their performance at Kodak Hall.

Yamaha Artist Services has announced that cellists Jacob Szekely and Mike Block, as well as bassist Charley Sabatino have been welcomed to the Yamaha Artist family. All three musicians currently use Yamaha electric string instruments.
