Notorious rock and roller (and Detroit native) Kid Rock has announced a partnership with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra that will lead to a May 12 benefit concert at Detroit’s Fox Theatre for the orchestra, which hopes to raise $1 million from the event. The orchestra recently survived a six-month strike and labor dispute and has recently been the benefactor of Quicken Loans chairman Dan Gilbert’s enthusiastic attention.  Officials credit Gilbert with the proposal of teaming with Rock for the performance.  Tickets for the event will range from $100 – $350 and are on sale at www.olympiaentertainment.com and www.ticketmaster.com.
