2012 Berklee City Music Conference

The Berklee City Music Network in partnership with Stax Music Academy has announced its second annual Network conference, “American Popular Music: The Untold Story.” The Berklee City Music Network in partnership with Stax Music Academy has announced its second annual Network conference, “American Popular Music: The Untold Story.” The conference, attended by music educators and activists from across the country, centers around bringing access to state of the art music education to students in underserved communities. The three-day event, to be held in Memphis, Tenn., will highlight expert speakers in the field of music education including musician and songwriter, Dr. George Clinton. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and mastermind behind the bands Parliament and Funkadelic will present on a panel and host a free, open-to-the-public master class with the Stax Music Academy ensemble.
