The event takes place from 5-8 p.m. at 720 via Mirada in Monterey. Tickets are $40 each, and are available at www.bachfestival.org/bachs-birthday-bash.htm. Attendees must be 21 or older.
“We have given this event an affectionate subtitle–’330 is the new 40 and has never looked so good’–because Bach continues to have such lasting power in our collective culture, from music to dance to art,” said Debbie Chinn, executive director of the Carmel Bach Festival. “That’s also why working with the Monterey Museum of Art was such a natural fit because both of our organizations recognize the importance of inviting our neighbors to share in our reverence for this icon of the arts. This night will be a chance to kick up your heels and have fun while toasting one of the truly great figures of the human experience.”
The Carmel Bach Festival and MMA are both committed to educating the broader public about their respective arts programming, and to offering interesting and immersive events throughout the year.
“Art is for everyone and it transforms lives,” said Charlotte Eyerman, executive director of MMA. “When we were looking for a way for our organizations to do something together, we wanted an event that would connect the visual and performing arts because we have a shared commitment to keeping our cultural missions alive. Bach’s birthday party will help broaden both of our audiences and brings people together to share an extraordinary experience.”
