Mike Lawson • News • July 17, 2017

Juilliard Historical Performance has announced its 2017-2018 season of concerts, tours, residencies, and master classes.

The 2017-18 season will feature performances from Harry Bicket, William Christie, Jonathan Cohen, Richard Egarr, Nicholas McGegan, Robert Mealy, Lionel Meunier, Rachel Podger, Shunske Sato, Stephen Stubbs, Masaaki Suzuki, and vocal ensembles Vox Luminis and Yale Schola Cantorum.

The new season will begin with artist in residence William Christie leading Juilliard415 and a cast of Juilliard singers and dancers in “The Genius of Monteverdi” with works by Monteverdi, Castello, and Farina on October 5, 2017 in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

This season will also offer the free lunchtime series “Tuesdays at Twelve” at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (65th Street and Central Park West), which is scheduled to take place on October 17, December 12, February 20, and April 3. These concerts are free, open to the public, and feature chamber music performed on period instruments in the 110-year-old church.

The season also includes master classes taught by Harry Bicket, artistic director of The English Concert, and Baroque violinist and Juilliard alumnus Shunske Sato. The full schedule of events can be viewed here
