RESTON, VA (May 14, 2015)—The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) welcomes directors of small to medium sized ensembles to submit their applications to perform at this year’s In-Service Conference. The theme of NAfME’s 2015 professional development conference is “Empower Creativity,” and more than 1,400 teachers and other NAfME members, students, and music parents are expected to attend.

There are seven 20-minute performance openings for two different days, October 25 and 27, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

All ensemble directors are encouraged to apply: jazz groups, string quartets, guitar ensembles, elementary marimba, recorder choirs, vocal groups, steel drum ensembles, etc. School ensembles are highly encouraged to apply.

The non-refundable application fee is $30 and is due along with audition materials no later than Monday, June 15, 2015. NAfME staff will inform ensembles of their acceptance by July 2015. Directors and/or teachers of groups applying to perform must be members of NAfME at the time of application and continuously through the conference.
