NYPhil Very Young People’s Concerts Conclude April 30 – May 1

The New York Philharmonic Very Young People’s Concerts (VYPCs), for children ages 3 to 6, will conclude its 12th season Sunday, April 30, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and Monday, May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Merkin Concert Hall, 129 West 67th Street.

The program, titled “Woodwinds,” is the final of three installments in Philharmonic Families, the season’s theme that presents an overview of the entire orchestra. The “Woodwinds” program will feature Philharmonic musicians performing selections from Rossini’s La gazza ladra Overture and Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin as well as “This Violist Went Wandering,” set to the tune of “Once an Austrian Went Yodeling.”
