On-Stage Supports Donates NAMM Booth Products to Harmony Project

Mike Lawson • News • February 9, 2017

On-Stage donated an array of music products and accessories to Harmony Project of Los Angeles, California. On-Stage is a Connecticut-based, family-owned business with a long history of supporting charities, community programs, and schools that promote music education and performance.

Coming off another great Winter NAMM Show, On-Stage is giving this organization all the products it displayed. The On-Stage NAMM booth displayed over 200 products from a variety of categories, including instrument stands, tuners, microphones, bags and cases, and more. They are on their way to Los Angeles, California’s Harmony Project, where they will facilitate instruction, performances, creativity, confidence and teamwork in some of the city’s least-served neighborhoods. This is the second year that On-Stage has collaborated with NAMM to donate products to a local organization; last year’s donation went to Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles.

Harmony Project was founded in 2001 with only 36 students and a keen awareness of the good music could do for young people at risk in a city where 68% of public schools offer no musical instruction whatsoever. Since then, propelled by Executive Director Myka Miler, the organization’s success and growth has been consistent. Currently, Harmony Project is committed to educating over 2000 young people throughout the entire course of their uninterrupted school enrollment. Last year all 62 graduating seniors were accepted to college.

The not-for-profit Harmony Project has won numerous national awards, including the Presidential Citizens Medal in 2011 and the Coming Up Taller Award in 2009. In 2015 the U.S. Department of Education named them as a Bright Spot in Hispanic Education. Harmony Project relies greatly on donations. They expressed their great appreciation for the generosity of individuals, endowments and corporations like On-Stage.
