On the Cover — the multi-platform series bringing audiences closer to the virtuosos who make up the New York Philharmonic through interactive content — begins its second season today with Concertmaster Frank Huang.
On the Cover enables Philharmonic fans to engage with the musician appearing on the cover of each month’s Playbill. In the inaugural season, fans asked the cover musician questions live on Twitter and Facebook, followed them through a typical day through Instagram takeovers, and streamed musicians’ favorite tracks on Spotify. The cover musicians also had air time on YouTube and the Philharmonic’s blog, What’s New.
This season, fans will get to know Concertmaster Frank Huang, Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, trumpet player Ethan Bensdorf, flute / piccolo player Mindy Kaufman, and Principal Clarinet Anthony McGill, among others.
