The SupportMusic Coalition is a program of The NAMM Foundation which unites non-profit organizations, schools, and businesses working to assure that music education is supported in communities everywhere, and that all children have the opportunity to learn and grow with music.
The goals of the coalition are: to lead a national music education advocacy initiative that unites NAMM Members, teachers, parents and school community leaders to advance support for music education; support state-level advocacy efforts with training and technical assistance; provide music education advocacy resources and news of latest music research; share calls-to-action and information about coalition activities through frequent articles, podcasts, webcasts, forums, and e-newsletters; profile and highlight outstanding efforts in music education advocacy from its national network of advocates working to keep music education strong.
Proactive, community-based support is vital to sustain and grow quality music programs in schools with certified music teachers. To assist SupportMusic Coalition advocates in their communities, The NAMM Foundation provides materials in both English and Spanish to “build your case for music education” to local and state decision-makers.
The SupportMusic Coalition is a partnership with National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
