The Juilliard Orchestra has announced the performances for its 2017-18 season.

Concerts will take place in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, Alice Tully Hall, David Geffen Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Tickets are free for Juilliard students, and non-Juilliard full-time students may purchase half-price tickets.

The season will begin with a performance from an orchestra of both Juilliard and Sibelius Academy members, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, on August 26 in Helsinki, Finland, followed by performances on August 28 in Stockholm, Sweden and on September 5 at Lincoln Center.

Highlights of this season include a concert led by alumnus Gerard Schwarz on the occasion of his 70th birthday year with a program of works by American composers David Diamond (former Juilliard faculty member), Jacob Druckman (former Juilliard faculty member), and William Schuman (former Juilliard President), as well as a celebration of faculty member John Corigliano’s 80th birthday on February 19 in Alice Tully Hall.

In addition, the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra, a conductorless ensemble coached by Orpheus member, Juilliard faculty member, and New York Philharmonic cellist Eric Bartlett, will be performing on February 11 at West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey and on February 16 in Alice Tully Hall.

The Juilliard Wind Orchestra also will perform in October, December, and March, led by Juilliard faculty members Elaine Douvas and Jon Manasse, and retired faculty member Patricia Rogers.
