Universal Orlando Youth Programs now offer even more options to its STARS Performance Program workshop, Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley, with the addition of Illumination’s “The Secret Life of Pets” and DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls.”
These exciting new additions join the existing program offerings, including Illumination’s “Despicable Me” and “The Lorax.”
During this program, band, choir or orchestra students sync music or choral arrangements to these beloved blockbuster movies, create Foley effects for an array of exciting scenes, and voice over some of their favorite characters, such as Gidget and Chloe from “The Secret Life of Pets” and Guy Diamond and Poppy from “Trolls,” giving students the opportunity to experience life as working movie musicians, practice teamwork and refine their skills.
Sound Design: Music and the Art of Foley is an energetic workshop endorsed by the National Association for Music Education, one of the world’s largest arts education organizations and the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. Designed to align with the National Core Arts Standards, Universal Orlando partnered with Robert W. Smith, a consummate music educator and one of today’s most popular composers, to produce the stimulating workshop.
“The Sound Design workshop at Universal Orlando is going to expose your students to a plethora of careers they might not know exist – audio engineers, video engineers, conductors, composers, directors, producers – this opens up an entire world of opportunity for your students and their future success,” said Smith.
Now through December 20, 2020, youth groups booking a first-time stay at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort can enjoy exclusive incentives, including one complimentary guest room, 50 percent off of breakfast vouchers and more.
