Vic Firth Co. celebrates drummers everywhere with their latest community engagement campaign, #LiveToPlay.
As the Vic Firth Company knows, being a percussionist is not a hobby, it’s a way of life. While making music may be the greatest feeling in the world, percussionists in particular know that the realities of the craft often include long, physical rehearsals, loading heavy equipment, blisters, calluses and much more.
Recently launched, Vic Firth’s #LiveToPlay campaign aims to bring the drumming community together by celebrating all aspects of music making, including the many sacrifices and hardships that might come along with it. A short-form documentary and responsive website inspire participation by highlighting relatable stories from everyday drummers. The campaign will grow over the course of the year to include participation from Vic Firth’s worldwide roster of endorsers, as well as the company’s own employees.
“#LiveToPlay aims to grow the worldwide population of drummers by incubating and amplifying the passion that drummers share with one another online every day,” says Andy Tamulynas, earned marketing manager at Vic Firth Company. “As percussionists ourselves, we at Vic Firth Company relate to the drumming community because we are members of the drumming community! We understand the sacrifices musicians make to do what they love.
Drummers worldwide are encouraged to show the world what being a drummer means to them by posting their stories using #LiveToPlay on Instagram. Vic Firth will share their favorites with the drumming community.
