Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College Degrees offered: Bachelor of Music in Performance, Bachelor of Music Education, Bachelor of Arts in Music. The Sunderman Conservatory provides excellent, comprehensive musical training grounded in the liberal arts for students who seek to make music integral to their lives, whether as a career or a life-long avocation. As a dynamic small conservatory within one of the nation’s leading liberal arts colleges, we foster creativity, intellectual curiosity, rigorous study and joy in music. Here you will be challenged by thirty-three accomplished faculty members dedicated to teaching, performance, and scholarship and by other bright talented students in the classroom, the practice room and onstage. You will have the opportunity to participate in a broad range of solo, chamber, and large ensemble performance opportunities, including our annual concerto competition, opera workshop and biennial musical. Each semester you will be able to work with internationally renowned guest artists and lectures who come to perform, teach and share insights. We will help you develop skills that will prepare you for the future as a 21st-century musician and a wide array of related fields. And we encourage you to join the over 50% of our music majors who study abroad for a semester in locations ranging over five continents.
